Atypical Divorce May Not Be Lead To Follow in Georgia

|

While the lives of stars seem full of glitz and glamour, they have their obstacles, too. Married couples, whether they are in Georgia or anywhere else, and no matter their economic wherewithal, go through the same processes of divorce. Often, it is difficult. Sometimes, efforts are taken to make things go more smoothly. This appears to be the case for Courteney Cox and David Arquette, who have decided to go their separate ways.

Both Cox and Arquette filed for divorce on the same day. Both are representing themselves in the divorce, which is perhaps a questionable practice to follow. Whether they have any sort of prenuptial agreement or whether they have agreed to financial terms in their isn't known.

What is known is that the couple has an 8-year-old daughter. Both are petitioning for joint legal and physical custody of their child.

It seems that this result has been a long time coming. The two have been separated since October of 2010. Since then, the couple has remained friendly. Their marriage lasted almost 13 years.

While remaining amicable, Courteney Arquette wants to be known again as Courteney Cox. She is going through the process of dropping her soon-to-be-ex-husband's last name and replacing it with her former name.

It has been reported that Cox has made comments about the relationship as it has played out in recent years. In those reports, she has stated that the two have a better relationship than they did when they actually lived together, citing better communication and respect between the two.

Cox seems in good spirits considering she is currently going through a divorce. The day after she filed papers, she was spotted at a fundraiser at Arquette's home looking rather happy, a smile on her face.
