Child support issues may arise in different circumstances. In many family
law cases, child support decisions must be made when parents decide to
dissolve their marriage. Deciding how much child support should be paid
to support the child may be difficult, and parents may choose three main
ways to decide on a payment plan. Recently, a famous music artist has
settled his child supportcase.
According to reports, DNA results have confirmed that Future, a rapper
from Atlanta, has child. The child's mother is from Atlanta and gave
birth in 2001. Reports say that the rap star has agreed to monthly child
support payments of more than $1,500.
Determining child support payments may be challenging. Generally, there
are three ways to determine how much should be paid: through an agreement
of the parents, through a resolution using a method of an alternative
dispute resolution or through a court order. In circumstances in which
parents are able to communicate and work with one another, the separated
couple may decide on a child support agreement themselves through an informal
negotiation process.
Parents may also choose to involve their attorneys during this process
and ideally end the negotiations with a written agreement. Parents might
decide to use an alternative dispute resolution option, such as mediation
or collaborative law, which are an out of court processes. Using an alternative
dispute resolution process may allow parents to still have some self-determination
in deciding child support. If parents are unable to come to an agreement,
parents may have a judge determine child support payments according to
Georgia's child support guidelines.
It is important to remember that in every child support case, there is
a child. It is in the best interests of the child and the parties involved
for the parents to come to a cordial agreement.
